Preschoolers got creative at the library recently with printmaking. I made blocks in advance from styrofoam meat trays and pieces of 2 x 4, supplied by Kelly and her fiance. Rectangles of styrofoam were glued to the wood with regular white school glue and then left to dry under several bricks, to make sure the glue grabbed really well.
Kids then used wooden bamboo skewers to “carve” their picture or design. We stamped the blocks well on well-inked stamp pads, applied construction paper on top, and pressed hard to “pull” our prints!
