Feliz Día de los Niños!

There’s a special event coming to the Children’s Department this Sunday! Every April in Mexico, el Día de los Niños is celebrated. In 1997 children’s autor Pat Mora had the idea to celebrate el Día de los Niños with books. Now, every year across the country, libraries and schools celebrate books and kids and diversity with programs and activities and parties.

Here at the Carnegie Library in Oakland, we’ll be celebrating Día with a special bilingual storytime, tasty snacks, and a unique take-home craft to help bring books into your home. There will be giveaways, music, and fun for everyone!

The program will begin at 3:00 on Sunday. All ages are welcome! Click here to register.
