Get Your Language On!

Check out two special foreign language programs this Saturday at the library.

At 10:30am, join us for Cuentos y Canciones, a Spanish Story Time featuring picture books from our extensive Spanish language collection, along with fun songs and activities to reinforce early literacy skills and plain old fun. Aimed primarily at native-speaking families, this program also welcomes kids who don’t speak Spanish but are interested in listening to the stories.

Then, at 11:30, it’s time to Discover Russian! Whether you’re new to Russian or speak it at home, come and enjoy some featured stories from our collection, folk tales, rhymes, and fun activities. Discover Russian brings together world exploration, language and literacy learning, and a love of discovery.

There’s so much to discover at the library. Literacy in more than one language brings not only greater understanding of the world around us, but also develops language skills in our native language.
