Banned books: Captain Underpants

According to the State of America’s Libraries Report, the Captain Underpants series by Dav Pilkey was the top challenged book of 2013. Tra la laa!

Captain Underpants (written by George Beard, drawed by Harold Hutchins, and able to leap tall buildings without getting a wedgie) is the goofy comic creation of two boys who are mostly responsible–for a lot of funny and not so funny pranks. When their principal finally has enough, they think they can outsmart him, but it doesn’t quite work out that way. Suddenly they’re chasing Captain Underpants all over the place, dealing with robots, bank robbers and the nefarious Dr. Diaper. But never underestimate the power of underwear (or plastic dog doodoo). The wry storytelling and comic illustrations will entertain both reluctant and avid readers.

Check out the Captain Underpants series for more adventures with talking toilets, wicked wedgie women, and more. While you’re at it, check out the Professor Poopypants name generator.
