Last Saturday, the Children’s Department was transformed into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.  A score or more of young witches and wizards were here, engaging in a variety of magical activities.

 
 
Professor Sprout offered a course in herbology, where students learned to identify lavender, tansy, yarrow, and other magical plants.

Professor McGonagall performed a paper transformation charm, demonstrating how to turn paper into a golden snitch.

Prefects from Ravenclaw and Slytherin led a boisterous game of “Pass Dobby’s Sock.”

The afternoon concluded with a scavenger hunt of magical objects, and a read-aloud from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
