The Luck of the Irish (and Everyone Else)

Here in Pittsburgh we’re extremely lucky to have Pittsburgh Arts & Lectures as a community partner. They bring in nationally renowned authors for their Drue Heinz Lectures and with their Black White & Read All Over series present similarly distinguished children’s authors and illustrators to delight both children and the adults who love children’s books.

Recently, Black White & Red brought Kadir Nelson, award-winning illustrator, to the August Wilson Center.

The next and final speaker will be Cornelia Funke, whose Inkheart trilogy continues to capture the imagination of readers young and old.

Other books by Funke include Dragon Rider, Reckless, Princess Pigsty, The Princess Knight, the Ghosthunter books, Igraine the Brave, When Santa Fell to Earth, and the Thief Lord.

Funke will be here in Pittsburgh on Sunday, April 10. Her program will take place in the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh Lecture Hall in Oakland (please note the change of location). Tickets, which are $10 each, are available from the Arts & Lectures website or by calling 412-622-8866.

Don’t miss this final performance in the 2010-2011 season of B W & R!!!
