Fizz, Boom, Fun!

We had an absolute BLAST in our Fizz, Boom, Fun program last week!  We made snow–yeah, even in July; we made spaghetti dance–almost like Big Anthony does in the story Strega Nona; we stuck a pencil through a gallon-sized Ziploc bag partially filled with water; and we made butter!  Of course, we had to taste the butter and that was best had on some crackers.

A couple of these ideas came from the book Oobleck, Slime and Dancing Spaghetti:  twenty terrific at-home science experiments inspired by favorite children’s book  by Jennifer Williams.

While most of the kids stuck 2 pencils through the Ziploc bag, these boys managed to get 23 pencils in theirs!!

23 pencils
And when everyone was done, we jumped into the 21st century and took a selfie!  Sorry that some of the kids had already left.

What fun!
